March 2008

Mat McHugh (vocalist - The Beautiful Girls) got to work on his solo project

Added finishing touches to and completed the Dubbly album "Styles" - due out real sOOn

Spent a 3 day weekend with the Goons of Doom recording songs for their upcoming album

Recorded Jimmy Lardner-Brown for Australian Guitar Magazine. He won the recording as a prize in their 07 guitarist comp. The track will be released with the next issue of Australian Guitar.

We layed down 2 acoustic tunes with Kellie Marie

Recorded vocals for Miriam Vera Barrs' composition "Milk & Honey", accompanied by Giselle from Almost A Trio

Easter weekend was all about Bloomfield recording 3 songs

Tracked a 5 song demo for Ghostwood which rrrrrrrrRocks ...

V'vaars started recording 3 songs for a demo, which is now extending out into a five song EP

more of Mesha's fine music - continuing to add tracks to their long term project...

Carra came in and recorded a single. Ian also mixed some home recordings as B sides

3 songs RECorded/Produced @ The Gate made it into the top 50 of Triple Js Hottest 100 1 from The Beautiful Girls "I though about you" @ 38 + 2 from A&J Stone - "Wasted" @ 31 & "The beast" @ 45

Angus and Julia Stone's Album "a book like this" has been confirmed GOLD. We also recently RECorded some sweet sounding piano tracks with Julia.

The Protectors recorded a few tracks for their new label, Grand Pacific Records. It was a bit like summer camp with the whole band sleeping over at the studio for the four recording days. Long intense days, but fun was had by all and an excellent result achieved.

Gerard Masters Band came in to do a 2 track demo, which included the most part of the Missy Higgins band.

Louie the Fly finished his dance track and soon there will be 3 tracks available through itunes.

V'vaars came in to start tracking a few songs.

December 2007

The Gate has been busy finishing ongoing projects before the Xmas psycological deadline, and also starting projects before the same. We also managed to fit in a handfull of demos.

Cog came in to complete tracking on their new album. After running out of time in the US due to touring commitments, they came in to The Gate to finish off vocals and guitars and other bits and pieces. The tracks were then sent back to the US to be added to the final mix.

Dubbly completed tracking, and got through most of the mixing for their forthcoming album, with only a few touchups to go. They have put out 2 finished songs as a taster as to whats to come.

Mr Blonde are in the final stages of mixing....but have now decided to record a few more songs to add to the album.

Handasyd Williams is adding the finishing touches to his album with Rhys D Webb at the helm.

Death Mattel finished tracking new songs and remixing old songs for a vinyl re-release of their recent album. They also started recording on their next release.

November 2007

The Brewsters (not the band name, but 3 sibilings of the angels famed John Brewster) recorded a demo of a load of songs for their yet to be named band.

The Numinus recorded a live demo with Rhys.

Is It Her came in to record and mix a song in four hours. The results can be heard on FBI radio.

Mesha layed down tracks, with the aim of building up a collection of songs for later release.

Julie Kember worked on a few songs to show off the diversity of her songwriting to management and A&R alike.

Louie the Fly pumped out his latest hip hop tune with production provided by Gene the G man Genius and Ezy Evil E.

Kevin Bates finished tracking and mixing his album of religious themed tunes.

Amy Meredith came in for a day and recorded 8 new songs as a demo for their management @ Scorpio Music.

October 2007

The new album from Angus and Julia Stone "A Book Like This" is released and comes in at no 6 in the national ARIA charts. The album is selected as a triple j feature album and receives many favourable reviews.

Dubbly start recording song for a fourthcomming EP/album.

Grise finally finish the album that has been in production for about 4 years.

Ian steps up the work-load on Angus and Julia Stone Album. Even putting together a mobile studio around at their Newport beach home to catch them in their natural environment.

The Beautiful girls Album "ZIGGURATS" is released and comes in at No 21 on the ARIA national charts. The album receives many favourable reviews. The album is selected as a triple j feature album and the single "thought about you" has rotation on triple j, and NOVA nationally.

February 2007

Grise continue recording their album with Rhys D Webb taking on the vocal recording responsibility

The Boom Band Krewe ( 6 piece horns with drums) recorded an EP

The beautiful Girls album is finished and Ian and Matt are off to LA USA for 2 weeks to mix the album with producer/engineer Mark Needham. (the Killers, Fleetwood mac, thirsty merc,....etc)

Angus and Julia Stone start recording tracks for their album.

The Beautiful girls start recording tracks for a new album due to be released in the first half of 2007.

March 2006

Newcastle band "the common code" start recording tracks for their ep due to be completed some time through this year.

January 2006

Angus and Julia Stone release their EP. The song "paper aeroplane" has been added to the triple j radio playlist as high rotation.

December 2005

Brother and siter folk outfit Angus and Julia Stone start recording their first EP. Surf punks "THE GOONS OF DOOM" take over the studio fora few weeks to record their album "dead barbie and the ghost" with production assistance from legendary "CUSTARD" guitarist Matt Strong.

September 2005

'The Beautiful Girls" are nominated for an ARIA award for best blues and roots album. They are also nominated for a Triple J radio J award for best Australian album of 2005.

August 2005

"The Fumes" are nominated for and win the Jager Uprising awards for best blues/roots band for the song "my babylon".

July 2005

"The Beautiful girls" new album "we're already gone" is released and finds its way straight to the top ten of the independent album charts.

June 2005

The fumes song "my babylon" gets picked up for rotation on triple j radio.

May 2005

Blues/rock duo "The Fumes" record Track for an upcoming ep release. They have further plans to record a full length album later this year.

April 2005

The Beautiful girls start recording another album due for release in July This year.

February 2005

Ian has been filling in on bass for Matt "Flatsticks" Bond with The Suitable few this month, playing such diverse venues as ANU in Canberra and the Bull 'n' Bush ('n' that) in Baulkham Hills (Maybe they're not that diverse after all....) Local band, Sculptors Mode have been working on their EP recently, with Rhys on Production duties, and will be putting the finishing touches on that during early March.

January 2005

Atomesquad have recorded their debut album of Old-school metal this month with Rhys while Ian has been putting some finishing touches on several other projects.

December 2004

Penrith band Faux Pas put the final touches on their debut EP, due out early 2005, with Rhys. Ian and the guys from The Suitable Few have been working feverishly to finish the "Summer" single which will be launched on the 15th of January.

November 2004

Ian has begun work on the latest offering from The Beautiful Girls this month. Adelaide band, Seeds of Babylon were honored with "South Australian album of the year" which was produced and recorded by Ian here at Noisegate Studios in January. SELF launch their EP, also produced by Ian, at Sydney's Transit Lounge.

Rhys webb has been recording ECM this month doing pre production for their upcomming album.

The goons of doom bring there craziness to the gate to start recording their post tour album with Ian Prichett

Ian touring with The Beautiful girls and the Goons of Doom all around Australia. Skutch recording with Rhys webb for a change of production scenery. Grise continue work on their second album. Destonia record their thing this week with Ian Pritchett at the helm. The Beautiful girls are recording pre production rehearsals for their upcomming Australian tour and the next album release.

June 2004

Blues band Rynsaardt recording this week. Could Mode 9 have actually completed their ep. Only time will tell if it sees the light of day. Emo kids Badge of Honour recording with Rhys Webb. Nathan Williams (ex-Agaugefor) starts recording his solo album this week with Ian Pritchett on enginering/ production duties.

May 2004

Ringblower recording this month. Hip hop rockers The Sutable Few start recording their record this month. Death Matel featuring members of The Drugs and Polystigma start tracking with Ian. SELF are continuing to record their ep which will be released in the later part of this year.
